Infra-Red Thermography (IR) Scanning

Infrared Thermography (IR) scanning measures the surface temperature of objects and provides quick and reliable answers to questions about the operating condition without requiring shutdown. IR scanning is best carried out before a scheduled Preventive Maintenance Servicing (PMS) shutdown so that any thermal anomaly can be rectified during the PMS. IR scanning is used to find areas of excess heat (caused by increased resistance) so that the problem can be corrected before a component fails, causing damage to the component, creating safety hazards, and productivity loss. IR scanning is the best diagnostic tool available for finding hot connections in the early stages of degeneration and thus prevents equipment failure due to excessive heat.
